koko crater botanical gardens cleanup
Join us for an educational clean-up event with Hawaiian Botanical Society and UH Manoa’s College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources. We will be working in the Koko Crater Botanical Garden, learning about native plants, the history of the crater, and how the gardens formed, as well as the role the gardens play in conservation.
- When: Sunday, May 24 | 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Where: Koko Crater Botanical Garden (Hawai‘i Kai)
- Cost: Free (Optional donation encouraged)
- Who: Movers and Shakas Alumni. Families are welcomed. Space is limited, however chaperoned children will not count towards the capacity.

JOIN ‘A’ALI’I MENTORING AS A MENTOR
`ALI`I Mentoring is currently recruiting mentors for its 2026-2027 AM6 Cohort. The organization aims to foster and cultivate mentoring relationships that support Hawaii’s young adults from under-resourced communities. With mentoring, young adults can persevere and reach their post-secondary educational, career and personal aspirations.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education degree
- Strong desire to serve as a role model and to share experiences with others
- Training and background check
- 10-month program commitment (5 hours per month)
