A NIGHT AT THE SYMPHONY

Join us on Friday, September 25, for a special edition of Pau Hana!

Enjoy an evening of food, conversation, and exceptional music as we gather before a Movers and Shakas outing to the Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra.

We’ll celebrate the Opening Night of the Halekulani Masterworks Series, featuring music by acclaimed Hawaiʻi composer Leilehua Lanzilotti, Gershwin’s beloved Rhapsody in Blue, and Mahler’s inspiring Symphony No. 1 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m.

PRE-CONCERT PAU HANA

Before the concert, we’ll meet at MW Restaurant at 5:30 p.m. for drinks and pupus.

From 5:30 to 6:00 p.m., Michael-Thomas Foumai, HSO’s Director of Artistic Engagement and Composer in Residence, will share highlights of the evening’s program. Additional HSO musicians will also join us to offer behind-the-scenes insights into the orchestra and the concert experience.

Even if you aren’t able to attend the performance, we’d love to have you join us for Pau Hana!

REGISTRATION REQUIRED
RSVPs are required for both the pre-concert gathering and the performance. Concert tickets are $40 per person, with payment due in advance. Registration closes September 19.

LEI MAKING WITH HI’ILANI

Join us for a fun, educational, and productive evening of lei making with Hiʻilani!
Gain hands-on experience while learning about the tradition, cultural significance, and art of lei making.

Being part of Movers and Shakas has helped me slow down, embrace humility in leadership, and become more curious about how historical context shapes communities today.
